The Seychelles Islands is an independent republic on an archipelago of 90 islands in the Indian Ocean, about 2000 km east of mainland Africa.
It is a former colony of France and the UK, which finally became independent from the UK in 1976. The head of the Republic of Seychelles is a President, the country being governed by a Parliament. The Republic of Seychelles is a member of such organisations as UN, OAU (Organisation of African Unity), British Commonwealth.
Its current legislation on international business companies was adopted in 1994 - Seychelles International Business Companies Act of 1994.
